“Unless we practice conservation, those who come after us will have to pay the price of misery, degradation and failure for the progress and prosperity of our day.” Gifford Pinchot

Conservation

A Perfect Injustice believes in the utter importance of protecting our precious planet and the unique trees and animals that it holds. With the increase in the human population, living in balance with the environment is becoming increasingly more difficult. Uganda has suffered from extensive deforestation. It is also sustenance farmers like the ones we serve who suffer the most from global warming.

Our programs are situated next to two beautiful national forests that were once brimming with rare and unique species native to Western Uganda such as pangolins, bush babies, pottos, caracals, bat eared foxes, antelope, dik dik, and the kob.. Through deforestation and extensive poaching, these animals are almost all gone.

“People are not going to care about animal conservation unless they think that animals are worthwhile.” -David Attenborough

It is the goal of API to sensitise communities on the importance of trees and wildlife and to provide
for them alternatives through bee keeping and animal projects as well as tree distribution to take the pressure off of these forests.  To this end A Perfect Injustice has planted over 60,000 trees including pine, mitumba (Drum Tree, Cordia Millenii), Musizi (Maesopsis eminii), mahogany, misambya, muvule (Teak), Melicia, Musambya (Markhamia), and mango as well as distributing fruit and moringa seedlings to the community.

Hand in hand with our community, we are focused to do even more to continue combating deforestation and the poaching in our district!

A Perfect Injustice has also been helping to rescue and release injured and trafficked wildlife back into protected areas.
